Dean Irvine, PLMHP
Developing meaningful interpersonal relationships has always been one of Dean’s passions. Beginning his career in Human Resources, he appreciated opportunities of listening to others describe work/life concerns. Through experience, he has learned that many of these experiences are driven largely by perceptions and how they relate to successes and struggles. Focusing on collaborative work in session can bring about meaningful change. He has assisted clients’ desire to change in a variety of ways – through their general sense of satisfaction, functioning, progress toward goals, connections, and well-being.
Dean uses aspects of many theories, with a focus on cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, and strength-based theories, and most recently is working through the Gottman Method for couples’ therapy. He has experience in dealing with a variety of mental health disorders, including interpersonal relationships, assertiveness, anxiety, depression, trauma, suicide, and self-harm. Most recently, he assisted adults dealing with severe and persistent mental illnesses, helping them gain a sense of independence through positive psychology and emotional regulation strategies.
Dean grew up in Nebraska, completing educational pursuits at UNL, Bellevue University, and recently with his master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from UNO. He has professional experience in sales, human resources, and rental property management/ownership. Dean is excited to listen and learn more about you and where you wish to go!
